Robot vacuums and mop are getting more efficient. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can handle different floors. Look for models that allow you to select between several modes, utilize their charging docks to automatically empty, and clean up the stairs.

Many of the best models work with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is among the most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate and creates maps of floors and rooms.

When I tried the S1, it was quick to locate our downstairs, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, plus carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without colliding with them and even managed to cross raised room thresholds with no problem, but it sometimes was unable to navigate down stairs in a single step. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and raised itself when it came to carpets or rug.

The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1's water tank holds enough for about twelve cleaning sessions before needing to be empty, but this will vary depending on how often you use the mop.

The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. It is necessary to regularly wash out the tank that has been contaminated to keep it from becoming blocked. You'll also need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to keep them from getting blocked by dirt or dust. But, overall the S1 is easy to maintain, particularly compared to other models which require more effort to maintain.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs All-in-one robot vacuum and mop is a powerful solution to your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot mop vacuum comes with 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a number innovative features including voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and avoids obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive, with mops that rotate that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned and dried at the base station, as needed.

The robot comes with an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It includes a hand vacuum that recharges for those areas that the robot isn't able to reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically empty and refilled as needed. It comes with a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily picks up most debris and even the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty robust, however it can sometimes get caught up on the tiny rug or area mats I have in my house (which is something you can mitigate by defining a virtual boundary in the app). Mopping capabilities are quite good, with a pair spinning mops which are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply dragging the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station when required. The mops are also refilled at the top of the station if needed.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new top-of-the-line robot hoover and mop vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender on our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee an efficient, customized clean.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on carpets and hard floors. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently, avoiding pet hairs and other messes. It can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri and allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. 4. Roomba Q5 Pro

A robot vacuum does a great job of picking up debris and dirt however, it's not able to be able to reach every particle of dust. This is why it's crucial to use your regular vacuum at least once a week, especially to pick up dust in corners and on shelves and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mops, is designed to do exactly that. It is simple to connect to your home WiFI network and also works with Alexa or Apple Siri.

K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses an innovative mapping system that helps it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums can't. This device also stores dust in a bigger dustbin which means you need to empty it less often. It also has washable filters, which reduces the cost. This robot mop can also detect carpets and increase suction if required. The app also allows you to mark areas you want to stay clear of and is a great feature.
